Ethics Advisory Board Meeting
Various partners gathered in Brussels, Belgium on June 26th to discuss their intended approaches to data protection and informed consent issues, and the inherent legal and ethical issues within these.
The EURECA project deals with highly sensitive patient healthcare data, and with partners spanning a number of countries, so this issue is highly pertinent.
Board members Dr Solvita Olsena and Prof Henriette Roscam-Abbing praised the project's legal and ethical framework.
Talks were contributed by Institut Jules Bordet, Oxford University, ecancer, Maastro and Custodix. The meeting was organised by the team from University of Hannover, whom also gave talks at the meeting updating the ethical issues and solutions they encountered during the course of the project.
Further details of the meeting will feature in the Autumn edition of the project newsletter.
